Award: Cooksville Four Corners receives Mississauga Urban Design Award!

Janet Rosenberg & Studio is pleased to announce that Cooksville Four Corners has been recognized with an Award of Merit for Community Scale at the 2014 Mississauga Urban Design Awards

Cooksville Four Corners is located at the intersection of Hurontario & Dundas Streets in Mississauga. The project transformed this historically significant location and bustling transit hub into an accessible garden parkette and urban plaza. Design elements include a colourful canopy structure, large shade trees, planting beds, flexible public seating and a decorative lighting strategy. Transit users now have a functional and protected place to wait for their bus, improving the experience of their daily commute. The space also serves as convenient meeting place and destination for local residents. The project was built by Con-Ker Construction, who generously donated their time and labour in honour of the company patriarch, Matteo Fusillo and his contributions to building Mississauga over the 50 year history of the company. Mississauga Mayor, Hazel McCallion officially opened the Cooksville Four Corners space in a ceremony on Saturday September 14, 2013.
