Newmarket Riverwalk Commons

This downtown revitalization transformed a former parking lot adjacent to Holland River Park and Fairy Lake in Newmarket into a multi-use, adaptable location for town-wide and regional events. A blue ribbon weaves through the Commons, connecting the trail systems to the new community centre, park, and river. The ribbon brings visitors to the water’s edge and allows views of the previously hidden waterfall. Riverwalk Commons has become an inviting destination, offering year-round activities, linking old and new, and bringing a new energy and excitement to the area.
