Reminder – JRS presenting on Kìwekì Point at the OAA Conference on May 14

JRS is participating in the 2025 Ontario Association of Architects Conference in Ottawa from May 14-16. This year’s conference theme is Reshaping Communities.

Founding Principal Janet Rosenberg and Managing Principal Wayne Swanton will present “Kìwekì Point – Big River Landscape” on May 14, 10:45 am at The Westin Hotel Ottawa. Janet and Wayne will be joined by Garry Meus (National Capital Commission) and Greg Boothroyd (Patkau Architects).

The recently completed Kìwekì Point – recognized with the 2025 CSLA Jury’s Award of Excellence – is a prominent public realm landscape for the National Capital Commission. The project was driven by a collaborative team with the ambitious goal of reconnecting the point with the Ottawa River. In this session, the landscape architect, architect, and client will discuss the initiatives that reshaped this important landscape in the Capital.

Following the talk, a guided site tour of Kìwekì Point will explore the design decisions behind this important public realm landscape
