JRS to present on Kìwekì Point at the 2025 OAA Conference in Ottawa

JRS is excited to participate in the 2025 OAA Conference! This year’s conference is from May 14-16, 2025 in Ottawa.
The multi-day event brings together architects and other thought leaders to discuss topics such as urban revitalization, adaptive reuse, inclusive design, Reconciliation, the intersection of built and natural environments, and the profession’s ability to respond to new challenges and opportunities.
JRS Founding Principal Janet Rosenberg and Managing Principal Wayne Swanton will present as part of a panel with the National Capital Commission (NCC) and Patkau Architects on Kìwekì Point. Following the talk, there will be a guided site tour of the new public realm landscape.
Kìwekì Point – Big River Landscape

Kìwekì Point is a prominent public realm landscape for the National Capital Commission. Recently completed, the project was driven by a collaborative team with the ambitious goal of reconnecting the point with the Ottawa River. In this session, the landscape architect, architect, and client will discuss the initiatives that reshaped this important landscape in the Capital.

Experience Kìwekì Point in person with a guided site tour provided by representatives of the National Capital Commission and JRS. The team will provide insights into the design decisions and process that reshaped this important landscape in the heart of Canada’s Capital.
