Kìwekì Point Wins a 2026 Governor General’s Medal of Architecture

Another incredible honour for Kìwekì Point. Congratulations to Patkau for receiving a 2026 Governor General’s Medal of Architecture!

The jury complimented the project for its “integrated approach to materiality, accessibility, public art, and landscape as a unified civic experience closely tied to the river context.”

Kìwekì Point’s success is a testament to the power of collaboration between disciplines, where true dialog between landscape and architecture has resulted in an integrated space that connects Ottawa’s open space network and celebrates the Kichi Zibi (Ottawa River).
