York University Common is a much-loved grand ceremonial outdoor plaza, the central hub for the university.

The 10 acre, tree-lined courtyard features chaise lounge-like benches, an oval reflecting pond based on the architectural style of the buildings, a fountain, and innovative grading that provides texture within the space. Designed as part of a larger master plan, this project included new streetscapes and a transportation zone for pedestrians and buses.
