JRS Launches New Studio Research Lab

JRS is excited to announce the launch of our Studio Research Lab (SRL), JRS’s dedicated home for design research, innovation, and sustainability leadership.

The purpose of the SRL is to:

• Support original research initiatives within the studio.
• Strengthen the relationship between design excellence, sustainability performance, and professional growth.
• Investigate research questions and share ongoing pursuits with the wider discipline.
• Engage clients and the public in the value of sustainable, performative landscapes.

Through the SRL we are currently in the process of developing:

• The JRS Sustainability Action Plan (SAP) – a practice-wide framework for climate-responsive, equity and ecologically driven design.
• The SRL Toolkit – a system of computational tools and workflows that support research-based design.
