PJ Condominiums is a 41-storey tower in Toronto’s vibrant Entertainment District. Located at 99 John St, the mixed-use development project is at the heart of the John Street Cultural Corridor, a long-term initiative to create a pedestrian link from major institutions to Toronto’s waterfront.

A generous, pedestrian-oriented public realm includes wide sidewalks, a large open POPS plaza and water feature at the corner of John and Adelaide Streets. The new POPS is visually connected to the POPS Plaza by JRS at The Pinnacle on Adelaide across the street. The plazas work in concert to create a distinct identity and gateway into the Entertainment District that supports the bustling street life and festivals held along John Street.

In the new water feature, water emerges below a floating granite slab, which has been twisted to relate to the bold building geometry. This generous platform can function as an informal stage at the lively corner of Adelaide and John or as a quiet place to sit. A skim coat of water provides a subtle level of environmental activation as it shears across slightly elevated granite pieces, reflecting city lights, exhibiting wind patterns, and creating sound. Light columns add vertical elements and connect with the plaza across the street. Streetscape improvements are in the works as part of a broader City of Toronto strategy for the corridor.

Perched atop the podium of PJ Condominiums, a 6th floor amenity terrace features a pool and hot tub surrounded by a large wooden deck for lounging, a BBQ and dining area for entertaining, and a green roof.
